Praise

So as I was out 'returning' today (you know how I am the queen of getting something home just to take it back!). I ran into Godwin, Chicka and Praise. It was so wonderful to see them. Godwin and I worked together at Hallmark. He is from Africa, by way of England and went back to Africa last year to marry his 'sweetheart' Chicka. They had their first baby in May. Praise is so big and beautiful, she practically jumped into my arms in the target line. Totally made my day to run into them!

Took Ray to the airport at 6:30 this morning. He is meeting up with 9 of his college buddies for a 'bachelor' party in Las Vegas. On Sunday, they are flying to Los Angeles for the UT vs UCLA game, which is being played on Monday night in the Rose Bowl. It was fun to hear how excited they all were! I so hope they are all still excited tonight with 10 of them in 1 hotel room (they think that since they did it in college it will be no trouble to do it 10 years later).

Went out tonight to celebrate with the girls for Kembree's Birthday! She always has a big birthday party! This year she picked Mollie Fontaines for the festivities. Very unique place. I had the best tempura long beans. Never heard of long beans, but they were Amazing!

Emily called me about 10 am to ask if I had plans after work. Macy's was having a big sale and she needed some new clothes. So, I went to help take care of Lily while she tried on clothes. Here is sweet Lily in my arms as we sat in the dressing room and gave our opinion.

Have I talked about what a wonderful mother Emily is? She is such a natural with Lily. Nothing bothers her and she seems to always be doing everything just right. She is so loving and caring (of course she did have a great teacher in both our mom and dad). She makes me so proud every time I am around her. She definitely makes motherhood look easy! I love you, Emma!

Emily and Lily spent the night at my parents last night (since Caleb went to deer camp)...so Ray and I went over after church. Nonna cooked a wonderful ham and the best fresh apple cake. Great-grandma Deen enjoyed having Lily there.

August 23rd was Miss Adeline Thomas's 1st Birthday! I'm sorry to say that we didn't make it to Knoxville for the celebration. Can't wait for Mommy Sarah to send lots of pictures of her big day! Big thanks to Torrey and Dan for the cute pictures posted below!

Ray and I went to church this morning...then onto mom and dad's house for lunch with Emily & Lily! Lily is wearing a smocked dress that was mine when I was her size! So glad my mom saved all of our sweet dresses.

August started in the triple digits, but a nice cool front came and what an amazing week it has been in Memphis! Ray and I had a nice dinner on one of the best patios (Fresh Slices) and then came home and enjoyed some beer outside. We had to call it a night when the TN state bug came out. Relaxing Saturday...thanks to my personal shopper (a.k.a. Molly) I got some new cute work clothes!

So...I started my new job today (where did the past 2 months go?). Ray had left this morning, so I had to take my own picture in my uniform (we only wear these on Monday!). My favorite thing is that my drive to work is only 4 minutes and they have a great 'sonic' ice and water machine near my office!

Two Wedding Rings???

That's right...Back in February, Ray lost his wedding ring. He thought I threw it away on one of my 'cleaning sprees.' So in July, he decided it was time to buy another one. Today, while on another 'cleaning spree', I found it under his dresser. Maybe he should have waiting till August to buy a back-up!

Junior League

I joined the Junior League of Memphis. Our first event focused on team building at Bridges. We played several games, scaled the climbing wall and took part in a ropes course (which was 40ft in the air!). This picture does not do it justice! Actually had a great time!
