Catch Up...

I was filing my pictures and realized I miss some events between mom and dad's surgeries...

on the Sunday mom came home from the hospital, Molly and I went to our cousin Jayme's baby shower. Jayme and Chris welcomed their baby girl, Lauren Ansley a week ago today. From the pictures I've seen she is precious with a head full of black hair!

Also, the weekend of mom's surgery, Ashley, Ray's sister, came to visit! You might remember that she spent last year tutoring and mentoring children in Harlem with City Serve. Ashley came to Memphis to interview for a Teaching Fellowship, where she would teach in inner city schools while getting her degree in education. Ashley also interviewed in Nashville and was chosen for their program! While I would love to have her in Memphis, I believe Nashville is a safer place and it is a sweeter deal as at the end of 3 years she will have her Masters in Education! However, I'm pretty sure she felt safer in New York as the house she was renting with some others in the program got broken into the first week they were there.

Logan! Enjoy your day! Yes, we sang Happy Birthday twice. Molly and Logan shared her banana cake at mom/dad's house. They are having Logan's favorite...a strawberry cake today at Logan's parents!

Molly's Bridal Shower - #2

Mom's friends hosted a fantastic shower for Molly this morning. There were so many people and it was great to see everyone. We got there early, so Molly could get a head start opening presents...Molly opened presents for a solid hour! She got so many nice things.

Lily helped Mol open a few presents...she got several of her Christmas accent plates that match her everyday dishes!

The food was delicious. Look at the beautiful flowers...they even have a few peacock feathers for accent.

Memphis's Best New Restaurant...

This is my 3rd trip in two days...really can't get enough of this place. Opened by a local farm family, everything is fresh farm grown or grass grazed by local farmers! Seriously the best plate lunch with daily fresh veggies to choose from...today I had lima beans and spinach...yesterday I had green beans and squash. This has to be better for me than the processed lean cuisines I usually eat at my desk. Anyway, all anyone was talking about at lunch was how awesome the pizza was. So we met mom and dad there for dinner...and it is awesome pizza. Oh and you can bring your favorite beverages to enjoy! So if you are looking for me, I'll be...

When I went to get Lily...

Tea anyone?

Kembree's bridal tea was so nice. Engin was the BEST host! The food and entertainment was great. I actually never had any tea, but I had a lot of water (It was sooo hot out there today)! We took a group picture, so I'll be sure to post it when I get it!

I went shopping today with mom and Molly...we were on a mission to find mom a wedding dress. I was on a mission to find a citrus hat to wear to Kembree's bridal tea tomorrow. So, everywhere we went I tried on hats. No luck at all...come to find out, I have a big head! I texted Kembree and found out some girls had found a hat store on American Way, so off I went. I had the best time trying on hats! I was in love with this yellow one, but got up to pay and it was $79...who knew! I'm happy with this one...looking forward to a fun time wearing my hat and drinking tea!

Country Jam

This guy rocks...Coy Bowles is his name...here he was singing The Day they Brought Ol Dixie Down...Jimmy De and his fiddle rocked out on the Devil Went Down to Georgia and their version of America brought the house down. Played a lot of good new songs and all the old favs! It rained some, but I do love the setting and sound at Mud Island. Wish more concerts were held here...I should call mine and Torrey's dear friend Jennifer and see if she would like to play here.

The next best thing to the beach...

is a day at the pool with Lily! Emily had a big end of season sale at Lily's today, so Lily got to spend last night with Mol, Nonna and Poppa. Lily loves the water and had the best time swimming, jumping and playing. Thanks Julie, Mike and Lynne for the great afternoon (and delicious food)! When Molly met Emily with Lily, Lily was so excited to tell her momma that she went swimming at 'JuJu' and Mikes!
