Going bike shopping...

Mom has been saving her birthday money for a bike. So I went bike shopping with her on Saturday (after we went to the farmer's market!). Who knew there were so many bike shops and bike enthusiast in Memphis? We started at Peddlers on Highland where they were polite, but didn't really offer any bikes with coaster breaks and baskets, so we went to Mid Town Bikes, which is actually on Main. Mom had been there before, but I didn't feel good about the experience...the carefree shop owner was nice, but not very forth coming with recommendations and didn't carry much inventory. We then went to Victory on Broad where the help was very knowledgable, but they focus on the true enthusiast! They sent us to All About Bikes in Mendenhall and that is where we hit the jackpot! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The one they recommended for mom was actually one that a customer at Midtown had recommended. It is a KHS Smoothie. They took it outside and encouraged her to 'test' drive it! It was what she was looking for and man is it a cool, nice bike!

The weather this weekend has been perfect to ride in!

On Saturday night we celebrated with Logan at the Redbirds game. It was a beautiful night that ended with a great firework display!

Rockey even stopped to wish the Birthday boy a Happy Day and to read his mind. Seems Logan was thinking about cake and ice cream!

Happy, Happy, Happy

Birthday Molly and Logan! We celebrated with a delicious candlelight/flashlight dinner (due to a quick lightening/rain storm that came through and hit the transformer). Mom made stuffed shells and dad grilled kabobs! It was so, so good and definitely a Birthday celebration that will not be forgotten anytime soon!

An attempt

At some beach photos...these really are the best out of the 120ish I took!

And the rest of the memories from my iPhone...

The rest of the week was a lot like the beginning...lots of pool time, beach time, bike rides, eating and just enjoying each other and enjoying being on vacation...
Annual puzzle time...
Going on a shell hunt...wow did they find some big ones this year!
 Burying Lily in the sand!
I bet we could have sold 100's of these hats with all the compliments we got!
 Lily building sand pies!
Playing angry birds with Uncle Ray before bedtime...
Coffee and sprite break after our morning bike ride...
Net fishing is hard work, but she got one!
A little float time...
Just Lily and I telling Betty Sue stories on the beach...
Three sisters ready for delicious food at Cafe 30A
Uncle Ray comes down for some sand castle building...
Layne lounging in his chair...
Our attempt at a family pic (right before the storm comes in).
Not sure how there was room for anyone else with all of Lily's stuffed animals!
Knocking down one of our many sand castle villages!

A favorite banana dessert at Cafe 30A.
Ray got a hair cut on this trip...I think it's safe to say he will not need another one for awhile!
Racing cars on the coffee table was so much fun!
Learning about dog racing with Nonna and Poppa
Layne destroying another sand village!
And again this year I read my favorite beach read...Thanks to my mom for giving me this book last year!  I wanted to leave you with my favorite quote from the book, but since I didn't have a pen at the beach I can't find it!

Tuesday ended with a bang!

The guys got up extra early to go deep sea fishing. When they got there they told them there was a storm at sea so it was going to be a rough one and they would give them their money back if they wanted. Well, they opted to go out and they did limit out of snapper (and they caught some big ones), but basically the whole boat except for Ray was sick. So thankful I opted to sit this year out...I feel sea sick just writing about it!!
Due to some sun burns and the red flags flying, the girls went out to breakfast and did a little shopping.

We spent the afternoon at the pool and ate dinner in. Then we went to Baytowne Wharf to play and to watch the fireworks! Lily loved the fireworks and Layne liked them too. It was a fun ending to the day!
