Today my middle favorite turns 3!

We celebrated with sweet Layne yesterday at his Planes party!  He had the very best time and was so excited about everything!  He loved his Dusty bike from Nonna and Poppa and he is already a bike riding pro!
Of course, Emily had everything looking great!  The in-flight snacks were a hit (even with the grown ups!)
They all colored their planes...
And then took them to the runway for a test flight!

Uncle Ray gave flight instructions and by the end some of the planes were doing flips!
Cake time!  Look at that sweet smile!  Love that birthday boy so much!!

He was so excited for his presents...
And I think the lego table Poppa made will be a favorite of his for a long time!  Happy Birthday Layne!

Tomorrow, My Littlest Favorite Turns 1!!

We had so much fun celebrating Mullen at his barnyard party on Sunday!  Everything was perfect and Mullen sure seemed to enjoy himself!
Layne seemed to have a big time too (until it came time for him to get off the horse!)
Mullen likes his new trike from Nonna and Poppa!  They always find the best presents!
How cute is this barnyard cake!

Poppa (with the help of Lily and Layne) made the bean bag toss and even Mullen had fun playing with it!

Mullen and his friend Ty Marshall
Lily is growing up so fast!
Everyone hanging out in the yard!
 Layne LOVED the pony!
 And so did Mullen!

 And Jackson!
Nonna, Poppa and their cowgirl and cowboys!
 Cake time!

Mullen liked everyone singing to him!  He just clapped along!

All the little ones enjoyed the potato sack races...
And some of the big ones did too!
Mullen practicing his bean bag toss skills...

 And his present opening skills!
Rumor has it he will be getting his 1st haircut for his 1st Birthday tomorrow.  I sure am going to miss his bead head!  Happy 1st Birthday Mullen and Many, Many More!

Super Saturday...

With Lily and Layne and Disney on Ice (which they LOVED!)!  Then per their request we visited the Peabody ducks, went to the pet store, feed the ducks in our pond, chased butterflies, rolled down the hills, played on the playground, walked for pizza and attended a neighborhood concert...and that isn't everything, just all this tired aunt can remember.  Love my time with my favorites!

Fun Friday Night

Such a fun night with the wonderful Charvey Mac on guitar and some of my favorite volunteer friends at the JL Fall Leadership Party!  Everything was stunning...Jeni and I laughed because at the same time we said...special events even made carnations look lovely!
Hanging out with Cara and Ashli as the guest start to arrive!
Loved that Ray agreed to come!
I have no shame when it comes to a s'mores bar!

Updates...

Update 1:  Tonight I was honored to go to the GIVE365 grant presentation to accept the grant for GROW!!  You remember the grant Director Casey and I presented for...well, we got it!!  I'm so very excited and we will put it to good use.  Everyone is upset about the recent crime in Memphis...it's all over the national news and social media.  I too am upset as that is my Target, my Kroger and my mall, but complaining isn't going to make it better.  I believe you have to be the change you want to see. It's about getting involved and forming a meaningful relationship with at risk youth.  It's about providing love for a child who may not receive any at home, make them feel important and special.  Give them the attention they need so they don't go try to find it other places.  That my friends is what GROW is all about and I'm so honored to be a part of this change in Memphis.

Update 2:  And because you have asked...click here to make a donation to support me in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer with the American Cancer Society.  Thank you!

Strides Against Breast Cancer

I'm on the AutoZone Strides team for the American Cancer Society's
Race Making Strides against Breast Cancer on October 19th. Our team goal is to raise $15K between the 30 or so of us. Then AZ matches it and boom...we give $30K to help find a cure. So today we had a bake sale and I thought to myself how much can one raise with a bake sale, but I made Torrey's haystacks and a strawberry cake to be a good team player. We auctioned off the cakes and my 2 layer strawberry went for $50...yes I was shocked. We raised just under $2K (so when matched we are talking $4K). I was blown away.
