It only took...

32 years, but today I am in the 'No Cavity Club'!!! I am so excited...I think this is the first time ever! Really, the dentist tells me I take the best care of my teeth...no plaque at all, but I definitely got the bad teeth genes!

Molly's 1st Shower...

Molly had a wonderful shower today at our church. I'll post pictures later this week, but Lily looked so cute in her pretty blue dress that Aunt Marca made her for Easter!

Coloring with Lily...

Crayons had the coolest makeover...it could have happened years ago, but I just found out when I was coloring with Lily. No more pealing back the paper...all you have to do is twist and more crayons comes out...who knew.
That's right...Orange is the best color!

Internet Issues...

I can't even count how many times I've started a post and our internet has gone down over the last week. Anyway, all is going fine here...mom and dad are both in therapy 3 times a week. We are so thankful that Molly is now home full time car pooling, cleaning, mowing, cooking and enjoying quality time with mom and dad. I hope our internet/phone comes back up soon so I can post some cute pics of Miss Lily.
Tonight, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the police officers who were involved in the shootout today. What a sad, sad day in West Memphis. Life is so precious.

Nashville Floods, Lily's open house and Recovery

All is well here. Mom and dad have good days and not so good days, but they are both slowly, but surely recovering (and that is really all that matters!). I think most of all they are board to tears. Molly stayed home with them today and they got out of the house some. Mom had therapy...they are very happy with her progress.

For everyone who has been wondering how they can help Nashville after the floods...buy a t-shirt. The images and stories I have seen/heard from friends and on the news are devastating. A friend sent me this great blog post...I encourage you to read it. It will take years and Billions of $$ for Nashville to recover. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Lily's had a successful open house this past weekend. If you didn't get your metal flower or bird house, you will have to wait...she completely sold out again! Come back soon for more open house pictures...

What a difference a week makes...

Dad's home and doing well. As we all know, dad isn't good at sitting still...the key will be keeping him low key for the next 5 weeks, so we don't have to go through the surgery and hospital stay again! Mom had a check up today and everything looks good. They took the staples out, but the Dr said absolutely no driving for the next 4 weeks. Recovery Road!

Happy 87th Birthday to Grandma Deen!

Look who's home!!!

Welcome Home Poppa! Daddy was releases around 6 pm and looks so good. As you can imagine, he is so happy to be out of the hospital and back home. Now, the key is to keep him from lifting and driving for 6 weeks. So, mom and dad are both home and on the road to recovery! God is so good! Thank you for your prayers.

Post Op - Day 6

Molly said that Dad had a good night last night. They were up at 6 am walking the hall, in hopes he will show his strength and be able to go home today. The cardiologist said that everything looked good, but it will be up to the surgeon as to when he gets to leave.

Post Op - Day 5

Dad's making progress...he is no longer the 'human sprinkler' as they took the tubes out this morning. He had 4 - 1" tubes through his chest. He has to rest till noon and then they are going to take a xray...after that he will work with a cardiac rehab therapist to get up and moving. Hopefully he will get to go home on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Saturday Night...

Dad still had a little more drainage than what it needs to be to get the chest tubes out, so he didn't get to have them removed today. We are hopeful for tomorrow. Also, his blood pressure was a bit low, so they had to reduce his pain meds. Nurse Emily is with him tonight, so I hope they have a good night! Here is another picture of Lily...she picked out this balloon to bring Poppa and she was so proud as she walked in and gave it to him (maybe I should say as the balloon walked Lily in)!

Lily came to check on Poppa...

And sign his heart pillow. He was so happy to see her!

Post Op - Day 4

Molly said daddy slept pretty good last night; however she didn't get to sleep until 4 and at 4:30 the tornado sirens started going off and they came to have her move away from the windows! We are ensuring dad gets his meds every 4 hours to maintain the pain. He must be feeling a little better because when they came to get his lunch order he asked for a crown and 7! Molly and I just smiled at each other!
The doctor hasn't been in yet, but the weather is horrible, so I bet they are just late. Hopefully they will take all the chest tubes out today and get him up and moving. I'll keep you posted!
